I am a healthcare executive and medical consultant with >20 years experience in the NHS and with active leadership roles in the public, private and voluntary sectors. 

NHS and private roles

Currently holding the roles of Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) and Consultant Clinical Oncologist at UHCW, having previously held Clinical Director and Deputy Chief Medical officer roles in the same NHS Trust.

Also serving as Chief Medical Officer for Icon Cancer Centre UK since January 2025, having previously held the role of Chief Clinical Strategy Officer in the same company since 2024. Previously held the role of Chief Medical Officer for Genesis Care UK (2018-20).

Awards and Recognitions

Awarded CCIO of the Year 2025 by the Digital Health Networks and Oncologist of the Year 2025 by the Yes to Life cancer charity for my contribution to digital health and integrative cancer care, respectively.

I have been named amongst the top 100 NHS Leaders in October 2025 and top 100 Women shaping the future of NHS Technology and Leadership in February 2026.

Senior fellow role at the Faculty of Leadership and Management (FMLM), fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and member of the RSM’s Digital Health Council, member of West Midlands Clinical Senate.

Chair of the Digital Health Networks CCIO Advisory panel (2025-27), having previously held a vice-chair role at DHN (2023-25).

Achievements

In 2025, I published the first ever Electronic Patient Record implementation blueprint, which you can find in the resources section of my website.

Because of my continuous leadership in the Innovation strategy and Implementation space, I consult and advise other organisations in their strategy and transformation journeys.

Current advisor for the WHO Academy for Lifelong Learning in Global Health, strategic advisor in various private and government organisations, specialist advisor for the Care Quality Commission and Healthcare Ombudsman.

Academic career

Academically, I have served as senior clinical lecturer and tutor in Dundee, Bristol and Warwick universities and I’m currently an associate at Warwick Business School and senior clinical lecturer at the University of Warwick. Served as NICE Health Technology Assessment Committee member and as member and Vice-Chair of two UK Research Ethics Committees.

Education

Completed a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) at Warwick Business School in 2021, with a focus on innovation strategy and implementation success using leadership enablers. I have been awarded an MBA from Bradford university, an MSc in Public Health/Health Management from the University of London and a Diploma in Digital Health Leadership from the NHS Digital Academy/Imperial College. I’m also a certified Lifestyle Medicine practitioner from the BSLM as well as a certified professional Health Coach from the UKIHCA.
